From time to time, the Society sponsors symposia and events intended to give members the opportunity to explore the transformative power of the game. Notable past programs include Golf and Meditation led by Michael Murphy; Golf is a Journey of the Mind, with PGA Tour Professionals Kirk Tripplett and Scott McCarron and led by renowned sports psychologist, Glen Albaugh; and New Dimensions in Learning Through Golf, held at Stanford University, which brought together many leading thinkers in sports, learning, and spirituality to examine the qualitative factors of transformative education.
The Society is currently in the planning stages of a symposium that will bring together notable golf course architects to discuss the impact of concerns such as sustainability, accessibility and technology on the practice of course design.
