The Q Tour™

SIS members Diane Sickmen and Mitch Grashin cooked up a wonderful event at the Monarch Bay Golf Club in San Leandro, CA on May 24th.

Eddie Goldwasser commented that, "With the weather and the setting it was like being in Scotland in San Leandro. Monarch was a fun course to play and it was great meeting other Shivas members. Very enjoyable time."

The food was fantastic. There was grilled sausages, rolls, chicken and corn, cherries, cantaloupe, chips, salsa, wine, soda, beer and the most delicious old fashioned chocolate layer cake that from Toots Sweets, a well known Berkeley bakery. It was a real treat to gather for delicious hot meal to celebrate and discuss the round on a cool and overcast day overlooking the bay.

Other Comments:

Jim Diederich: Had a great time and had notable highlights like making two out of three ups and downs out of bunkers and a birdie on 18. Great way to wrap up the round.

Stephanie Holland: Had a good tee shot and a good second shot on 16.

Mitch Grashin: Geese flying overhead and honking during his swing on 14. It drizzled some before the round, a little after but not during. The "Q" ( barbeque ).Eddie's recommendations of courses to play in Scotland and Ireland, and Stepanie getting out of a trap from the edge.

Karen Graul: Got a birdie on 10 and shot her personal lowest score on the back nine.
Diane hitting an amazing shot out of a deep bunker when her ball was sitting 3" away and three feet below from the lip.

Marsha Jaeger: The barbeque was great! She had a couple of good tee shots.

Diane Sickmen: First time ever 3 consecutive greens in regulation, one bird, beautiful vistas, great people, wonderful time, and seeing newly hatched ducklings and goslings and their respective families.
