Soule Park Golf Course, Ojai and Sandpiper Golf Club, Santa Barbara
Join fellow Shivas Irons Society members for two days of memorable golf in Southern California, on Monday June 8 and Tuesday June 9. Your co-hosts Dr. Joe Parent and Ben Kline are excited to explore true gravity with you on these delightful golf courses. Monday evening's dinner will provide an opportunity to share and explore golf's hidden treasures.
The Courses:
Situated in the stunning Ojai Valley, we start our short journey at Soule Park Golf Course in Ojai Valley. The facility was ranked the 48th best municipal golf course in the country by Golf Week magazine and named "The Best Course You've Never Heard Of" by GOLF Magazine in 2021. Soule Park was originally designed by renowned architect William F. Bell in 1962. The course was renovated in 2005 by golf course architect Gil Hanse who is currently busy redoing Spanish Bay Golf Course in Pebble Beach. After golf, we will meet for dinner at the club and "sing the praises" of our great game.
On Tuesday, with tee times starting at 10:00am, we will enjoy the ocean front splendor of Sandpiper Golf Club. The championship golf course at Sandpiper has been rated by Golf Digest in the top twenty-five public golf courses in California and top 100 public courses in the Country. It was also designed by William F. Bell (1972) featuring beautiful rolling fairways and challenging greens in a seaside links style layout. Sandpiper's dynamic design attracts players of all skill levels including players of the highest caliber.
Before Golf on Monday: We'll warm up on the range starting at 12:00 pm, and get together as a group for a brief welcome conversation.
